BREWGUARD OXY
Active Oxygen Based Liquid Cleaner
Brewguard™ OXY is an advanced acidic peroxygen pretreatment designed to penetrate tough oils including beer stone to improve the cleaning of brewery tanks and systems, and other food and beverage equipment. As supplied, Brewguard™ OXY is acidic and exhibits low foaming characteristics. It contains no chlorine or chlorine derivatives but does exhibit strong oxidizing and bleaching properties. It exhibits good detergency with modest solvency and solubilization properties.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
- Strong detergency and cleaning properties
- Liquid cleaner with strong stain removal properties
- Active oxygen components enhance stain and soil removal
- Acidic pH and chelating agents remove beer scale
- Highly water-soluble, even in cold water.
- Low foam, permitting use in re-circulating systems.
- Enhanced wetting for better soil penetration and surface coverage
- Provides modest solvency and solubilization properties.
- Provides cleaner, shinier surfaces
- Provides lower was solution electrical conductivity
- Provides for potential reduction in alkalinity requirements for effective cleaning, reducing the cation content of wastewater
- Noon-corrosive to 304 and 316 stainless steel and compatible with most sealing and gasket materials when used at recommended concentrations.
Brewguard™ OXY is typically used at concentrations ranging from 2 oz per gallon of water to as much as 8 oz per gallon of water. Higher soil loads or destaining requirements generally require more concentrated use solutions. After use, rinse thoroughly with potable water. Consult your Shepard Bros. sales representative if additional technical assistance is required.
When used in conjunction with alkaline cleaning compounds such as Brewguard™ Heavy Duty CIP Cleaner or Brewguard™ Liquid CIP cleaner, a ratio of 1 part Brewguard™ OXY to 4 Brewguard™ Heavy Duty CIP Cleaner or Brewguard™ Liquid CIP cleaner is recommended for initial evaluation. This ratio may need to be adjusted depending upon cleaning requirements. In most CIP cleaning applications, Brewguard™ Heavy Duty CIP Cleaner or Brewguard Liquid CIP cleaner should be used first, and Brewguard™ OXY introduced into the CIP solution about halfway through the cleaning sequence.
Brewguard™ OXY is also used prior to the caustic wash in circulation such as Brewguard™ Liquid CIP cleaner, spray and soap applications. This blend is designed to remove beerstone, fats, and carbohydrates
